    December, 2011

We've just returned from a shoot in Queenstown where we worked with this outrageously creative duo: www.thewadebrothers.com

We shot over 5 days on some incredible locations around the Queenstown area, with an animatronic raccoon. As you do.

    July, 2011

It's been a busy few months, and we've been putting our perfectly-coiffed heads together with the unkempt noggins at Ogilvy (BP), Robber's Dog and Barnes Catmur. We'd like to welcome Photoplay and Window Productions to the group of inspired people we work with. We have also been enjoying the company of the irrepressible Mr Steve Saussey while working on the latest ad in a campaign that's fast becoming a Kiwi favourite…watch this space.

When it comes to production,

We are Particular.

While creative folk are busy making aaaaaaht, some of us have to tear ourselves away from the creative process to focus on the paperwork. And focus we most certainly do.

Some people might call an all-consuming quest for absolute perfection OCD. We call it sensible business practice. The same “some people” might also be happy to cut corners, while we prefer to do whatever it takes to produce superbly executed communications.

Of course we do understand that nobody likes a Perfect Pants, so just to make all those who pay anything less than slavish attention to detail feel better; here are a few deliberate mistakes.

HYPERBOLIE. ONOMATAPOEIA. REM NIMIUM BENE GERERE, IN SOLITUDIO ESSE.

And for those who still think we're blowing a little hard on our own trumpet, we'll hand our perfectly polished wind instrument over to a fellow pedant.

(But not before we've sterilised the mouthpiece, obviously):

From a director’s point of view, Nikki is an ideal producer. Calm, unflinching in the face of my silly requests, and cares deeply about the pesky creative side of film-making. She’s also tall enough to make me wonder just how much she could kick my arse if I get out of line. When it comes to shooting in NZ, Nikki’s the first person I’d call.”

Recent & favourite work

We are Experienced.

Even if you are too immersed in your latest project to know what day of the week it is, you’ll no doubt demand perfection when it comes to casting, locations and technical know-how. Well guess what? You’re in the right place (for once). We’ve spent the last 20 years crossing Ts and dotting Is to perfect the art of the smooth-sailing shoot and post-production process, so you can spend more valuable time focusing on the ‘process’.

This was a spectacular shoot in every way – impeccable locations, Alfie Speights on the chopper, faultless weather, oysters and several excitingly finicky camera rigs. Need I say more.

They say “never work with children or animals”. Unless you‘re a very experienced Producer working with a well-respected Director and some awesomely talented Pukekos, that is.

The best place in the world to shoot:

We are based in New Zealand.

Of course we are.

We wouldn’t be anywhere else; because only the locations here in the Land of the Long White Cloud live up to our impossibly high standards. Spectacular mountains, primeval rain forests, placid lakes, rugged beaches, imposing glaciers - all within a compact 268,670 square kilometers. Pure perfection.
